LS Fear - Making a guide for SMN Possibly highest dps class.

So I have been seeing alot of threads an comments on the claims that they are useless, so im going to start by asking why you think they are not as good as other classes?

I think the biggest fear for SMN is lack of spike damage. SMN is a DoT based class, all of our damage revolves around keeping those up and spiking with Fester while maintaining Rouse and Spur on our pet. However, what people don't see is the pay off of all this in large numbers, so they find it weak. For a majority of gamers the only thing that matters are big numbers. Without those the rest is meaningless. People also find MNK to be weak for the same reason.

Both classes do steady DoT much more reliably than say a DRG of BLM. Once a BLM stops attacking outside of Thunder they are no longer doing damage. If a SMN stops attacking, their pet is still DPSing and their DoTs are still ticking. Each has their place and does it well, it just means they are better for different situations.
