A word to the Tanks out there.

1. If you have no intentions of running a complete Duty dungeon, don't sign up.
   
2. If you have no intentions of leading the Duty dungeon, don't sign up.
   
3. If you have no intentions of marking the mobs in order of kill and cc, don't sign up.

Nothing worse then getting a few pulls in after waiting in the queue for 90+ mins and the Tank bails out because they are ethier too lazy to mark mobs and they wake up slept mobs which then get them killed because they can't help themsleves or are too lazy to repostion, blame healers for lack of healing on mobs that one shot that tank and blame lag for thier poor tanking skills. I could add 100+ more reasons here, but I won't.

Yes this seems to happen alot, just remember, the rest of us don't get instant pops.

I've been seeing this in the majority of dungeons I've run to help a friend get through them. They bail just as we're approaching the boss without a word. What irks me though is that it's only the tanks that are doing a great job (pulling properly and smoothly, marking all mobs, keeping hate). I've ended up "tanking" on PGL (not fun for healer because PGL is squishy lol) and we've been able to finish each thankfully. I've been trying to understand what the point was of the timing of when they bounce but I don't really see what they could gain by leaving when they do. Seems to be a lot of effort to go through for a chuckle at the thought of a group being unable to complete a dungeon because you left.

didn't even give the guy a minute. he just upped and left, ended up soloing the first boss, and the second boss when healers didn't prioritize the warrior that replaced him.

some people are so impatient endgame.

i don't like leaving dungeons, i feel the need to finish what i started. i have to occasionally because of prior commitments, but that is usually immediately after second phase boss.

Personally, I only bounce when 1 or more people refuse to work as a team.

As for marking the CC mob, I feel thats best suited for the CCer to mark, as its usually been in most MMOs. (I do keep the macro handy in case its needed though)

In short, if i pull, i mark my target, if someone CCs, they mark their target, etc.

But that can be discussed in the group of course.

As for "only join duty finder if u plan to finish" i can both agree and disagree, sometimes ppl use duty finder just to gain exp, and since all the content requires WAAAAAAY too much time to complete a single leveling dungeon, I disagree, since half my friends have things to do irl half way through most dungeons.

You can blame them all you want, but its actually the fault of the designer.

maybe endgame content should take that long, but not leveling content. (Unless of course this is solely directed at endgame content, then i feel i stand corrected, but there was no specification.)

As for "Leading" thats not a tanks responsibility, thats just the responsibility that most tanks take up, since they are the pullers, and most other players interfere with how they pull or hold threat.

What IS their responsibility is to communicate their plans, and how they plan to do things, so if anyone disagrees, or cant work with their plans, they can say so, and hope to work out something that flows better.

Why don't you do it? I think the people CC'ing or DPS'ing should kinda do something besides face-roll on their keyboard and cry about tanks on tanking forums?

1. I agree don't go in if you don't have the time. I also know stuff comes up.

2. I'm not going to lead something I don't know. As a general rule if you know it, lead it. My job is to pull monsters and hold aggro.

3. My marks are for me more than anyone else. They say this is how I'm attacking, you can go in any order you want but expect to be able to handle taking damage. You want to sleep something, mark you sleep, though I know I can see when a mob is slept or not and I know how to not wake it.

I'd also like to point out, and I know this is going to make me sound like a jerk, but I owe the party nothing. The party owes me nothing. I expect if anyone thinks the party is incapable of doing the dungeon, that they will leave. I'm not going to bash my head against a wall because a healer can't keep up, or some dps thinks he is invincible and wants to do my job. Sorry it takes you 90 minutes to get in again, but I don't control that and don't take responsibility for that if I leave. Not leaving to screw you, just doing it to take care of me.

Stop pushing all of the responsibilities on the tank. We got enough on our plates.

I'm not going to lead if I don't want to. It is not my obligation, but rather a choice I make if I do lead. It is not a law for tanks to lead, it's just easier because tanks are at the front to see everything.

I will not mark cc targets. That's on whoever wants to cc. If they do not mark it, then I'm going to likely run through my rotation on the mob as well. I will mark what target I am hitting and by extension, everyone else hits. I will then mark whatever I'm going to hit next, and what everybody else should hit next. I will do nothing more then set the priority for what everybody should focus on, as I'm not going to mark for cc and then nobody wants to cc. Done.

You seem like the person who would if he got stomped because he stood in red, it's either the tank or the healers fault.

When does anyone ever listen? I cant tell you have many cm runs i do and people don't listen they do whatever they want to. To tell them to setup at cannons, they don't, if they do and you pull the first set of mobs they all run in or while you are pulling the big boys and one of the idiots is trying to run in and click so we get a cut scene, you tell healers not to heal on the inc pull and they do and when they get agro the idiots run to the cannons which gets them blown up most of the time. You tell dps to get on cannons, they dont and they try and dps the mobs down, the whole point of using the cannons is so you dont have to dps them and when they do this it screws up agro and attack directions for the mobs which again wipes the cannons out. Not only when you try and direct the group there is some healer in there that knows everything and runs its mouth off at every turn and again doing what they want to.

I am to the point i really don't care on a CM run. Its not a "raid" its just mass chaos. Nobody lets the tank get agro, hell they dont even let you move a mob and get set before they attack, nobody assists they just do what they want then complain when shit goes south and its the tanks fault.

I am so tired of hearing crap in those runs that i don't give a shit anymore, i will do what i need to do to get through to get my tokens and that is it. I don't care how bad that sounds or whatever. When i first rolled in to CM i was worried about agro and controlling mobs and being as efficient as possible and after dealing with groups after about 100 runs i could care less. I know i have had bad runs and i have pissed people off but like i said i am past caring after dealing with abuse people put off on tanks.

Honestly there is a reason tanks will leave groups, maybe you should think about that before posting this stuff.

2. I lead if I know what im doing. I can read a guide on it, but a guide isn't the same as having done it. If you've done the dungeon and I have not, then I will say straight up I'm not 100% on whats going on here. If no one knows whats up then sure I'll lead while alt-tabbing between game and google. It's more efficient if the person who knows whats up leads the way however.
3. I mark my targets of interest. If you're CCing something mark it yourself I cannot read your mind to know what you'll mark. Some players are more intuitive than others. They'll see a 3 over a target and CC that, others will go the extra button press and put the "Don't attack" sign on what they've put out of commission. Communication is a two way street.
