crafted gear good enough for hm primals and even coil?

i see a lot of ppl going 'no DL and/or tomes gear? don't join my party for primals and coil'.

that may be a little demanding but i guess it is fair for those who worked hard enough to get their gear.

personally im not a fan of running endgame stuff, and have always enjoyed crafting. if i have all gathering and crafting classes at 50, and craft my own gear (nq or hq), will those be good enough for those runs? i dont mind spending a year or 2 working on it...

Yes and no. It only makes sense that people ask for those, as hard mode primal fights are more difficult than the dungeons you can run to get philosophy tomestones for darklight. Essentially, you need to run earlier endgame to be prepared for later endgame.

Now, as far as crafting gear goes, you probably wouldn't be accepted with MOST crafted gear (item level 55 and below), as that's a fair bit worse than Darklight (Item level 70). The exception is the Darksteel, Vanya, Gryphonskin, and Spruce armor, their weapon counterparts, and their accessories. These are all crafted, item level 70, and when HQed have comparable stats to darklight.

There's just one problem: To craft them requires items that can only be obtained using tomestones of philosophy, the same items used to buy darklight. Each item requires a LOT of these. In fact, they cost MORE than buying darklight, just to buy the materials, and then you have to go to the trouble of HQing them.

So, yes. You can have crafted weapons and armor that you can enter endgame with. But why would you go through all the extra effort just so it's crafted?
