I literally cannot complete some duties unless I am the capped level for that duty. My conjurer was wiped off the face of Eorzea in seconds during the quest Trial By Wind at level 10. I had the best quest-given weapon at that time and the best quest-given armor on... Is it always going to be that way? I don't mind if it is, but if it's not supposed to be that hard then I must be doing something wrong. ^^;
For this quest kill the lower lvl adds as they appear, they only take a couple stone attacks to kill, then hit the main "boss" one, when more adds spawn kill them quickly, back to boss. Continue like this, when the main mpob is low HP your instructer friend will come assist you for the final stage. The fights for class quests are only as hard as you let them be, theres always a way to beat them.
In most of the Conjurer quests, your job is not to kill anything, but to cure the NPCs that do most of the fighting for you.
I agree with yuufarlc, kill off a low level mob, and then cure up your guys, kill off a low level mob and then cure them up.
This is the same for every single DoM class quest. Always kill the adds, and as quick as possible before focus on big boss- trying to prep for instanced runs-
So far I've found CNJ's level 10 Trial By Wind and level 15's Trial By Water to be some of the toughest in the game. (Level 20 is a joke by comparison.)
As said above, focus on the adds. There are a lot but they're quick kills. Try to keep Aero on the main spirit to DoT it. When possible, Stone the main spirit.
Oh so I was going about it the wrong way. I thought that it would be more efficient to kill the main corrupted spirit... Alrighty, thank you for the info! I'll have to come back here whenever I am confused with something.
It also helps to use some food or drink items to buff your Mind, Vitality and spell speed.
Another tip: you might want to use these fights to practice switching Cleric Stance on and off. Turning it on makes a huge difference in killing enemies but it greatly reduces your healing potency. However if you manage to get the hang of it you can really speed along battles and dungeon runs.
