Should tanks keep a DPS offspec handy?

Just wondering as to what the high level raids are looking like? I have been hearing 8 mans only needing 1 tank in some cases and 24 man only needing 2 tanks at best (maybe 3). So...I guess the question would be, should I level a DPS class and keep that handy for end game progression?

Being a versatile player is never a bad option in my experience.

I have a lancer set for when my buddy and I are jerks and double warrior queue. Remember to turn yourself into a marauder rather than warrior so you can cross over archer abilities.

Its never a bad idea to be able to fill any roll. Tank, healer, melee dps, ranged dps. Gives you the most range of options.

Any other class I would imagine would be useful. Once I get my Warrior to 50 I plan to start on leveling a healing class. (Heads over to Healing forums to see the pros/cons of SCH over WHM :D).

Whatever you feel like playing, level.

If you would like to raid but they don't need a tank - why not have an alt class ready to go so you can still participate?
