Paladin Blocking + parry vs Warrior Parry

I see many threads comparing the mitigation for both these classes but I never see one that includes how Paladin has Block and parry compared to a warrior having just Parry. Am I missing something here or is this not a big deal?

Gear with + Parry doesn't increase a Pld's Parry, it increases Block. It is the same stat, though the shield does add extra opposed to not having one at all.

So Paladins can't parry with a shield equipped?

I believe he's saying that a Paladin has block and parry just combined into a single block function. They benefit from both effects, they just stack together under the name 'block.'

Paladin can block and parry I just confirmed this ingame. That's a big advantage.

That is the tradeoff for having more hitpoints.

No shield oath is the tradeoff for having more hitpoints.

paladins are much better devoloped then warriors are, thats all there is too it.

The trade off for the shield that PALs get is WAR self heals. As said before, the higher hp and increased self heals are *supposed* to equate to the DR of Shield Oath, but the self healing is too little actually do the job.
