Relic Quest - Seriously Confused

So I just dropped a pretty penny for Quicktongue Materia III cause I was over trying to grind them anymore.

I got 2 melded to my madmen's staff, but the quest is still uncompleted and cant be turned in? Im seriously confused on wait im doing wrong.

Did you try to put your staff in your inventory ?
