Will the overworld survive?
So like most MMOs, XIV has chosen to wall everything worth doing at the endgame behind instances. True Odin and Behemoth are overworld but they are time gated and hardly derivative from the FATE system on the whole.
Granted that the previous online Final Fantasy took great pains to balance instance-based content with overworld content spawned through items or conditions will XIV attempt to make the overworld vital to the endgame experience or merely something used to reach the cap before dungeon finder onry?
