Graphical Issue causing system crash

At seemingly random intervals after I start playing I will come to a point in which my screen flashes and shows some lines and artifacting. Ten to twenty seconds after this starts my computer locks up completely to the point that I need to do a hard shut down.

If I take no action in game I am sometimes able to alt tab to desktop briefly. However, it will still lock up after doing so.

This only happens in FFXIV. It does not happen in other games and has only occurred since the character creator benchmark was released.

I have attempted the following solutions.

-Complete driver uninstallation (including the use of official removal software) and reinstallation.
- Direct X manual updates and reinstallation.
- Disabling fraps
- Resetting CMOS settings to defaults
- Disabling Fraps
- Uninstalling and not using any non essential Nvidia software (ie. GeForce experience and EVGA precision)


I have used CoreTemp to monitor system temperatures and they are absolutely in safe range.

There have been a few threads about issues with the 660 gpu.

Ive had a similar issue, what seems to fix mine was rolling my nvidia driver to 314.22, only now the game will just hang for a few seconds instead of freezing.

Id recommend keeping evga precision with this driver, it really heats the gpu.

I have now tried the 320.18 and 314.22 drivers as well with the same results.
