lack of voice acting killing game

it is not that hard to add voice acting. i got a big suggestion if you think paying people to do the voice acting is expensive. HOLD A CONTEST. pay them nothing but a subscription and you will have plenty of people to do the voice overs.nothing like doing the 1 quest that even gets voice overs and bam in the middle of them talking they stop and force you to read the dialog instead...horrible. you could even use a voice synthesizer to tweak those voices into more. i would gladly read dialog for you to implement in the game as voice overs.as i told you in phase 3 beta . no one will read the dialog. they end up skipping the wonderful cut-scenes you added to the game. without out voice you basically shot yourself in the foot.

Voice acting didn't save SWTOR. :x

I have to disagree with this assessment, the game is doing just fine and dandy without 100% voice overs. I daresay poor voice acting everywhere would be detrimental to the games longevity.

It's not killing anything.

Hasn't seemed to bother anyone in our Company, so seems a spurious claim at best.

Oh God, they're forcing me to read something to understand what this story is about!



But wait, haven't all JRPGs had speech bubbles of text? If people don't care about the story, listening to voice actors isn't going to make them stop skipping the dialogue.

I'm sure if I needed to lend my voice for the game I'd ask for a little more than a subscription.

It doesn't bother me, but it does sometimes have a feel that it wasn't finished. For example when leaving Uldah going on the airship for first time and talking to the leaders of Gradania and La Noscea the cut scenes have voice for about the first half of the scene, then the voice stops and just text. I don't know if this happens more often or not later because I am still low level.
However, like I said it doesn't bother me and I don't agree that it is killing the game at all.

Most of us just skip the cutscenes. That would be a lot of wasted resources.

TLDR: I disagree with you 100000000000000 fold.

I dislike the voice acting really. I would rather just have it removed completely.
