The Aurum Vale Mechanics and Pets For Future Content

In Aurum Vale the first boss encounter totally screws with my pet. There is no way for me to help or save it other than wasting 500 mana on a resummon and it will still get eaten again by the DoT.

While it isn't a big deal here I just want to make sure so in future content this won't happen or else certain fight mechanics will be impossible for Scholar to deal with as our fairy is a significant portion of our contribution to the party. I don't mind my pet taking damage as long as I can make efforts to counter act it.

Just did it on Summoner as well.

It's a huge shock that after all these levels of instant kill/massive damage aoe abilities having much decreased damage on summons, now my summons in Vale are dying in seconds. Can't even use Ifrit egi because it's very easy for him to die to puddles, which do full damage to him.

I think a big problem as well is how weak Sustain is. It should restore a lot more health quicker and clear all conditions on the pet.

I'm gonna have to get THM from 16 to 26 in order to have swiftcast for resummons.

Vale is not good at all for pet classes. The summoner can't kill the eggs quick enough, and the pet dies easily in there.

Also the fairies and egi have silly aggro tables. My fairy is constantly drawing aggro on her own. Controlling the fairies so they don't waste their skills is also quite more difficult than doing so with the egi.

Completely agree here. My faerie died almost immediately and I can't seem to keep up with the damage without her. :/

I know nothing about summoner in ARR, so I just ask, do they have any ability to reduce/nulify taken damage. Maybe all times element wheel would work,
like using a pet strong to a monster used elements. Again I know notihng about summoner, but it is always good to ask.

There is now way to keep your pet alive on the first boss in there. We tried everything. We had me a SCH and a SUM in there and the first boss is a huge struggle once both of our pets die. The fight goes on for a really long time if one of your DPS is severely gimped when their pet dies and it is nearly impossible to solo heal when my fairy dies as the fight lasts so long with a SUM their. I will not queue for or do this dungeon anymore until this is fixed, it was our first time in there and we made it to the last boss which has a similar mechanic. This needs to be fixed to where when I eat the fruit my fairy does also removing the debuff.

Did Aurum Vale 3 times as a smn, and wiped the party several times. All three times also had a scholar so we were gimped on healing as well. Eating the fruit does not cure your damn pet so you are forced to resummon (even if it did, sustain sucks), buf in the meantime the sch is having trouble healing so you must back up heal with no time for resummon. Iffit/titan are useless because of quick death from puddles.

This dungeon put me in a funk, concidering future conent and the dungeons after this im petrified and annoyed. With the third party we managed to reach the final boss. Same issue and not only that, the add seeds pop in which you have only seconds to get rid of them >.>

As having virtually 0 aoe power this sucks for smn. If you choose to command ur pet to attack the seeds, by the time it does all the adds would have spawned. I tried using bane but this required timing, it also leads to death because using bane to transfer the dots to seeds from boss means that you have to neglect the third stack of poison. >.<

This truly makes me regret having a main smn, pets tend to be retarded and a hassle to micromanage. Having to cut your rotation to command a pet not to be retarded is unacceptable.

Sure swiftcast is a solution, but summoning alone costs 500mp and one shouldnt need to do that several times in a fight. What a let down smn/arc/sch has been and it makes me sad...

Would a bards mages ballad help with the resummoning cost of 500mp? It does sound imbalanced, regardless.

The point isnt really the cost it is more the time to re summon and the fact that the mechanic seems broken. I cannot believe for a minute the buff is intended to kill our pets and not be removed when we use the fruit.
