SE, do not punish 1.0 players who want to buy the physical CE

Great work SE...


So I've bought the 1.0 standard edition, gave you 9 months of sub money, spent £50 on the new CE and you expect me to still pay for the digital upgrade?

I can't cancel my PC pre-order as they already sent me the pre-order code. I do not want the PS3 version.

Sort it out SE. Just make a web form where if I enter my new CE's code it will give me the option to upgrade my current service account to a CE account. Or if all else fails let us contact SE support and let them flag our account as CE if we give them our CE code.

If they don't offer a solution to this having not made this clear from the beginning then it's an insult to all those who have supported XIV.

Agreed, the current solution honestly doesn't make much sense.

This is outrageous for me because when I asked a German comrep it was said, that we COULD use the CE on our old account and I asked SEVERAL TIMES! You should have ben clear about this from the beginning. Only because I thought that I would actually get the items for my old account - because before this change happened the comrep confirmed it- I preordered the collector's edition. Boo! >: (

It's really bad. There is no reason why their account system shouldn't be as simple as possible for the user, especially when so many people had issues even just registering their 1.0 game, and worse yet is this is all a result of their poor decisions during 1.0 development.

Quite the mess.

I am pretty confused with the whole situation.. whats up with their account system?

All existing account who does not have CE version have to buy the PS3 CE to get the items. Due to the fact that if you buy the PC CE that code wont work on existing accounts only new accounts.

So you have to buy the PS3 version and add that code to your existing account to get the CE items. Or buy PC CE version and then pay 19.99$ CE digital upgrade to get the CE items even if you have a PC CE code it's useless on existing account.

Only the ps3 Code works to get the items which i find really dumb they did that but w/e

The original CE worked this way too. If you made the mistake of creating a character before putting in your Onion Helm code, you were SOL and had to remake your character for it to appear in your inventory.

Why they couldn't change this system in the ensuing three years, I have no idea.

I really hope we get an official response and they clear it up. Right now i'm in sh*t creek with a useless PC collectors copy I can't cancel and they expect me to pay more for items I should already have access to?
