About The Empyrean Divine Gaming Community

The Divine are a collective community of gamers that share a common passion for massively multiplayer online roleplaying games. The truly unique enjoyment of MMO's stem from experiences in playing with other players. Each experience can be different for everyone, and so in most cases a guild with interests and compatibility is often sought for.

The Empyrean Divine seek to provide an environment that is balanced, fun, and a safe haven for all its members. The community retains a zero tolerance rule against discrimination to race, gender, sexual orientation or any type of trait subject to discrimination. In ensuring that the players needs are met, and a solid foundation for guild rules, the Divine guarantee to bring together like minded players to develop new friendships and forge new bonds.

We adopt a strong charter and rigorous application system in which all members are required to apply on our website and be reviewed by our officers. We do this to ensure high quality and standards in our player base and adult nature of our guild.

About The Empyrean Divine in Final Fantasy 14

We’re a rag-tag group of energetic and social people who prioritize community and fun in our experiences together. That’s not to say that we forgo the idea of progression or excelling at our classes, but that we consider our connection with one another more important. In the game itself the Linkshell plans on remaining small as time goes on, only gradually accepting more people into the fold so that everyone can feel like they’re a true member of the community and actually part of a working, living, breathing Linkshell.

We will primarily focus on PvE, with some possible PvP leadership if enough interest arises. Originally we will start off fostering teamwork within our members in leveling and crafting. Our reasoning is that if we can get our members to work together from early on, we’ll have a much easier time progressing through difficult content such as dungeons, raids, roaming bosses, and so on.

We are also allied in spirit with another Linkshell that will have optional RP for its members. They have offered to help provide an RP niche for any of our members who need it, since our Linkshell itself is exclusively PvE with no plans of RP currently.

As an additional side note, although many of us are perfectly comfortable being social in text, most of us prefer talking through Mumble, a voice chat client. If you’re the type of person who enjoys speaking with others vocally such as we do, don’t hesitate to join us on Mumble whenever.

Our Mission Statement

We are a mature community that seeks to strengthen the bonds between our players of multiple games. The success of our community is bolstered by its Creed. “Honor, Loyalty, Faith.” Honoring our members and families by giving them the respect, patience and honesty that they deserve. Loyalty in members by remaining 100% committed to the well-being of the guild and its family. Faith in seeking patience and positivity in one another. This means lending a hand to our members, and offering support when needed. With our creed we hope to host a highly evolved, committed, and stable community for folks around the world to share an amazing experience together.

Age Bracket & Maturity

The Empyrean Divine hold a minimum age requirement of 18 years old. Most of our members are between 25-35 years old. By normal standards we are an adult guild. This means we do tolerate and enjoy in adult topics, material, and language at a reasonable level. We do ask that our members have a certain level of thick skin to appreciate adult humor, but we never go out of bounds and do not tolerate any type Racism, Sexism, or comments against Sexual Orientation. We have a variety of players ranging from different cultures and we respect that first and foremost.

In most cases, our members are required to exercise an appropriate level of judgment in how they handle themselves, and it has worked out for us just fine.

Inspiration

The title of the guild derives from inspiration of Dante Alighieri's “The Divine Comedy”. Our coin phrase is an excerpt from a particular line in the series of poems.

Empyrean, from the Medieval Latin empyreus, an adaptation of the Ancient Greek ἔμπυρος empyrus "in or on the fire (pyr)", properly Empyrean Heaven, is the place in the highest heaven, which in ancient cosmologies was supposed to be occupied by the element of fire (or aether in Aristotle's natural philosophy).

Divine refers to Divinity, in which the root of the word "divine" is literally "godlike" (from the Latin deus, Dyaus, closely related to Greek zeus, div in Persian and deva in Sanskrit)
