2.0 idea : world major event

Hi everyone,

First, all my apologies for my english i'll try to be as clear as possible ^^

For having more life in Eorzea i was thinking about to add some major events like a concert of a famous band from Eorzea who could play diffrent FF songs during the show.

Or we could have a chocobo race, some arena fights with some bets or rewards (something for our house, a funny outfit etc), a play about a historical period of Eorzea, the election of miss/mister Eorzea, a parade, a fashion show etc.

Some npcs could shout in cities for having more details about the event and we could see some posters on the walls, buy some tickets.

Maybe there could be several performances at diffrent hours for EU / US / JP people.

What do you think about it?

Is this sort of what second life does?

NA release of FF11 had a world event where everyone was down-leveled to level 1 and threw rocks at a giant tree attacking the city.

I will never forget that.

/agree. World events are very memorable indeed.

SE could make it a FATE event.

Man that sounds like so much fun. I was too young. I started in 2005 at 12 years old ._.

I've had my share of events in XI though. Great, great times.

Maybe this IS what they have planned for FATE Events?

Nahhhhhhhhh i dont mind the fundamental part of FATE system into the World Event, but having it to do repeats and repeats is orz.

You mean like Besieged in XI?

The concept sounds really awesome. It would definitely give the server community an excuse to get together and do something as a community. Maybe quell some of those "ARR IS KILLING OUR COMMUNITY WITH ITS WOW-NESS." cries.

I could imagine that remnants of the VIIth legion would threat Eorzea. Or Bahamuts minions. Would make awesome world events.
