Along with specific drops, drop standard dodo items as well, and shard/crystal/clusters.
Any other Future NM's should also drop parts for unique weapon, armor, and food recipies
And maybe down the line, when there are Instanced dungeons, The Holy Dodo Church can be added to have these enemies as bosses :).
More NM suggestions! (and some HNM's)
Mighty Mouse (or some other cool mouse like name)
Dormouse NM. Spawn somewhere around Camp Ironlake (tons of dormice in that area).
Will use a nut shower skill, dealing Aoe Damage, and the hedgemole's burrow attack.
Drop Mighty Mouse Pelt, used to make some kinda Belt, Gloves, or shoes/boots.
Antilon (HNM)
a boss from older final fantasy games. Would make a good Ant NM, But be much bigger and, like Hedgemoles, be able to burrow. But while burrowed, it will move around and attack random people with its Pincers, while being immune to attack itself. Causes an earthquakes while burrowed temporarily stunning the party (unlimited range). When it emerges, causes a major quake that stuns the whole party for 10 seconds or so(also unlimited range) while it continues to attack its main enmity target.
Good to be placed somewhere deep in copperbell mines (where all the other ants run and play)
Drops: Antilion Pincer. Used for something :)
Aether Grenade (Or some other cool grenade name) (HNM)
Grenade NM that is imbued with aetherial powers. Will not be fire elemental (as it has become aetherial) but will be resistant to every element. Will start out much bigger than normal grenades, and as usual, grow bigger as its health is reduced, but wont use the explosion attack that causes itself damage.
Drop Aetherial Ash to make special blades for a variety multi-elemental weapons.
Beep Beep
Road Runner NM (lol). Will run round in circles and such, making the party have to use binding skills and chase it down.
IDK what it could drop...
*Speaking of roadrunners..... make a different model for those, they're too fat to do any running.*
Gilgamesh (HNM)
Yes... Gilgamesh. The crazy weapon collector seen in various FF games.
Drops: Random Broken swords from other Final Fantasies (including broken aeolian scimitar)
The Skadoodler
Coblyn NM. Just does regular attacks, but Skadoodles around at random and attacks random players: No way to keep enmity on it. Doesn't do do the cluster attack.
Drops: Something :)
The Elemental Furies
A NM for each of the elements, except Umbral and Astral. Each shows up during their respective Weather changes (Rain for water, Sand storm for Earth, Windy for Wind etc.) and of course each in different areas of the world. Each uses aoe for normal attacks with their element for damage, making them healing intensive.
Drops: Furious Eye of (insert element here), used for either higher rank elemental brands, or as materia for imbuing weapons with elements *When the materia system comes out*
Astral Spark and Umbral Spark
2 Variations of the Plasma Spark (Strang Lightling creature seen during a Gridania Guildleve). These 2 are actually normal monsters like plasma spark. However, if you fight them together (When the claiming system changes and we are able to enguage multiple enemies/enemy groups) When both of them reaches a certain level of health, they will use a fusion ability, causing them to fuse together to form:
Ultima Spark (HNM)
It will then start using start using non-elemental attacks, as well as Umbral and Astral attacks, and periodically (every 4-5 seconds) stunning the party for 1 second while dealing AOE Non-elemental damage (Infinite range and unavoidable). This will be a passive ability, and it will still be able to single-attack and use magic and abilities.
Drops: Ultima Weapon! jk....
The Magus Sisters (HNM)
Sylph NM. Does battle regimes with Delta magic while all 3 are attacking the same target. Uses All elements of magic except umbral and astral.
Drops: something for wands.
Snowy (SHNM)
Furble NM.... Obviously will be the most powerful NM EVER.
Drops: The post powerful item EVER.
The Crusher (HNM)
double large Snipper NM (Red crab). Will use an attack that grabs a target and well... crushes it, dealing heavy DOT damage and stunning the target (Actually holding the target in its claw) while attacking a new target with its other, eventually grabbing that target as well and doing the same thing, and after a few seconds it will toss both of the grabbed a good distance away, at the same time wiping enmity and selecting a new target that is closer to it. While it doesnt have anyone grabbed, it will use Pugilists flurry on the main target, and use an improved Seismic shock that does its damage in all directions to anything in range.
Drops: Shell or something to make shell armor out of.
Diamondback (HNM)
Not a gorilla! Another Coblyn NM, except the crystals on its back are much bigger, and It is much bigger too. its crystals regrow after it uses its cluster attack, making it able to use it over and over. Also can fire homing shard barrage that target 4 random party members for continuous damage for 10-20 seconds, while still attacking the enmity target. Because of its fast regeneration features, it's health will recover by 200 every 5 seconds.
Drops: Diamonds!
More to come when I think of some others!
