Spearfishing Gig?

It doesn't seem to me that creating higher level Spearfishing Gigs would endanger any balance for fishing compared to the other Gatherer's. Both my Miner and Botanist have Max OJ Scrip gear and are at 5k+ Gathering and Perception. My Fisher with the same gear "Star Tech" has 4k Gathering and 3.5k Perception because of that stupid IL 180 Gig...That's allot of stats to give up. What harm would it be to at the very least give us a crafted option at 100? Why should our Fishers do without their "Stat Stick"?

The stats given up are offset by the reduced stats needed for fishing locations and spearfishing fishing nodes.
In effect, fishing costs less stats wise therefore you don't need mining and botany level stats, hence why fishers only have a +35 GP stat offhand instead of a +966 Gathering / +1691 Perception (Star Tech) offhand for miners and botanist.
If the devs decided to make the spearfishing gig a stat match for the other DoL offhands, then they would also need to change all of the L60+ fishing content and nodes to re-balance for that increased stat potential.

Stats aren't really the problem.
There is no more balancing problem than the stats diff from expansion to expansion.

Give us at least a blue one.
If it has more than +35 GP, nice.
If it has one or two materia slots, even better.
If it has more stats, sure, balance endgame fishes around that. (not like there is anything more than "minimum gathering" at play)

Stats aren't really the issue.

My biggest problem is that I'm forced to use materials to repair gear that only spiritbonds at a level to give Stormblood materia.

Keep the stats the same every expansion but let me at least earn relevant materia.

I remember 1.0 had multiple gigs.
Then they took them away from us for years.
Now we get the pity gig.

Feel like this is a relatively non-issue.

If the problem is just that the icon is grey, they could make it blue without changing anything else.

I don't even think giving a gig more stats would be that absurd. As the main thing you have to fight with fishing anyway is just randomness such as actually catching the right fish in the right order, or hoping the fish doesn't get away, or if the weather patterns lines up just right so you can actually have attempts to catch that fish.
