AAC Heavyweight Savage M3 (Tyrant Savage) For PF groups,DPS check overturned too much

Topic only considers about PF groups.

Situated as a third floor savage fight of 7.4 tier, for PF groups, DPS check is super overturned. It's week 3 after Savage started and AAC M3S still requires no death and no DD from PF players which is ridiculous. Mechanic-wise, it's not that fun. Before arena split, it's just repetitive random weapons plus meteor, TB, and orbital omen. Arena split and Ecliptic Stempede are not fun mechanics either. With such a boring design of mechanics, for PF groups, dramatically increasing DPS check is not a well-thoughtout decision. Many PF players have spent only several hours to prog to the final enrage stage but can not be able to clear the fight due to the increased DPS check. It would be more fun if AAC M3S has nore interesting mechanics and lowered DPS check. Considering the difficulty of each savage fight and offering players a feeling of success, AAC M3S failed big time. Many PF players feel frustrated right now due to tight DPS check. Hopefully in the future, dev will reflect on this tight DPS check design failure, and design the third floor savage fight with more interesting mechanics and less DPS check.

That's factually incorrect. You can check tomestone and see m11s pf reclears with multiple deaths, dd's, and heal lb3s.

Just because no one died or didn't get a dd, doesn't mean they played well. You're conflating people playing poorly with the dps check being overtuned.

It's a skill diff issue.

DPS check issues have happened in the past and were corrected after a week or two, I wouldn't expect any changes on M11S but I understand the frustration as the DPS check is, indeed, very tight for PF players which might not have perfect 2 minute allignment or clean rotations
As you said, in some parties especially those with non-meta jobs you cannot pass DPS check without melee LB or with 1-2 DPS weaknesses

people have been reclearing in pf since last week with multiple deaths, dd's and even sending heal lb3 due to losing someone during split. Playing poorly but wanting to clear anyway isn't the same thing as "the check is ToO TiGhT."

damn bro that's crazy

anyway, gambling teammates constantly hoping they don't get deaths/know how to recover a death and even without deaths hoping they do decent DPS is annoying ontop of prog liars, the fight is terrible too so good luck for your clear
M6S was a wall for PF as well if I remember correctly

I haven't got to M3S yet, but people have said the DPS check is strict. When I mentioned to some others that the DPS check was strict, they didn't agree. So not everyone is unified on the idea that the DPS check is tight.

I can relate my experience with other third floors though. The DPS check in third floors is usually highly dependent on the party. There are a lot of parties you get into that either can't beat enrage or can barely beat it, but then you will occasionally get into amazing parties that defeat it in plenty of time before enrage.

It's been the same deal even with M9S. I can't begin to tell you how many enrage parties I've been in (even for reclears or on my EU alt). But when I setup my own party with an ilvl restriction, the DPS is amazing. The other day I set up one for i774. One stood on wrong LP stack for bat movement giving me a DD, a person died, multi-stack near-wiped us but my mit kept a rezzer alive. Healer LB3'd. The LB3 resulted in me getting clipped by someone's mechanic and dying. The commotion caused me to pot late. And still, we beat enrage.

It's all about the party that you get.

This seems to point to the possible issue that merely having crafted gear (assuming pentamelded) would not be enough to clear the tier effectively, that is considering that there may be dds and deaths. Which, indicate that the tier may be a bit overturned.

i dont think its bad that the average savage player needs better gear than crafted.

if the group plays well its possible and if not then you need better gear... makes sense right?

tomestone gg exists, and shows pf reclears with multiple deaths, dd's, and healer lb3 so no... it's not overtuned. it's people who don't know how to play their job not wanting to think of ways to improve.. so instead they are blaming the check for BeInG ToO TiGhT

While most tiers should be clearable in crafted gear, SE specifically told us they tuned it to expect weekly tomestone gear (3 weeks worth). That means potentially i773.

After 4 weeks it was possible people were i774, or only i772 due to only getting body/legs.

After 5 weeks, it was possible people were i775, or just i773 due to body/legs.

After 6 weeks, it was possible to be i776, or just i774 due to body/legs.

This is all assuming no loot from Savage whatsoever.

What you will find, however, is many did not grind weekly tomestones for the initial 3 weeks and are thus dragging parties down. I still get /tells asking if people can join who are i770. The issue is it shows a lack of commitment and seriousness if they were too lazy to get tomes since Dec 16th, and especially if they only began gearing this week.

I only have ears and ring from M9S and I'm 779 currently. Setting that as ilvl req would make it take hours to fill, because it's FFXIV and people don't take gearing seriously.
