Share Game Progress Between All Characters?

It would be great if FFXIV allowed all characters to share the game progress, MSQ and any other duty-unlocking quest so we could simply change characters and continue where we left.

I know Square Enix is all greed like any other company but I doubt they sell tons of MSQ potions that cannot even consider eliminating them.

If that's not feasible then they could at least sell us the option to share the MSQ between all owned characters, I'd be willing to pay up to $100 as a one time payment to get all my alts on the same page and then continue the adventure.

It's incredibly annoying and frustrating advancing the story with each character separately, not to mention a huge waste of time.

This game is relatively old and needs some serious modernization.
