PSA - Check your private Estate

So footnote - I play on pretty much every data center and noticed that today I got 3 private homes that gave me a demo notice (out of the 4) despite being visited regularly (I generally spend a few days on each DC a week) I noticed in 1 case that I recieved a notice that the timer had been reset...but checking on the timers (CTRL-U) it is still flagged for demo.

Also not a single one of these demo reports had sent an email (I checked spam)

Yep. This happend to a friend of mine's house too.

They had been online 2 days before and INSIDE their medium house. Then 2 days later, their house was auto demo'ed and when contacting GMs they were just given the ''We appologise for the inconvinience'' SO please. Do as the title say check your houses.

Wow, that is horrible! Were they able to get their home back?


I had made it a habit long ago where I logout inside my homes by going to bed with /doze for both rp and to reset the auto demo timer daily. This makes me use my homes daily and it's also nice to see my characters be able to go to their own beds and sleep while I'm away from the game :3

Not that it's always going to be the case, but I know that in at least some of the time this comes down to you not interacting with an item within the estate in some way - that's what seems to reset the timer, rather than just entering your property.

That means going in and instead of just logging out or teleporting out, you need to right-click on an interactable item in the house. Message books or exiting the estate by interacting with the front door have both worked in cases where I've entered and the timer hasn't reset.

Hope it helps someone else.

Make sure it's you going into the house. Tenants cannot reset the timer.

nope.

all GM's literarly said to them is ''We appologise for the inconvinience, and the sadness of losing a house. But as of this moment, due to the auto demolish feature we cannot undo this. We appologise.''

So my friend is kinda sad and fed up with FFXIV as a whole due to this. and i don't blame them.

The best is when it demos before the date in the email. I was on travel, got the email. Saw it would demo after I returned home (adjusting for time zones and such). It was already gone when I got home. This was years ago though - maybe 2019? Maybe it is a bug that was fixed.
