Limit Break Choice - Suggestion for New Feature

Hey all,

During a recent fight with Nidhogg, I had a thought—his ultimate attack animation (that soaring Dragoon-style dive) looks incredible. Honestly, if you asked Dragoon players if they'd trade their current Limit Break animation for that, I think the vote would be unanimous.

That led me to this idea: What if each role (tank, DPS, healer, etc.) could choose from a small set of boss ability animations as their Limit Break "skin"? These would be purely visual—no gameplay change—just a way to personalize your moment of glory.

Think of it as a syntactic flourish—a stylistic variation in how we "speak" our power in-game. A Dragoon might dive like Nidhogg, a caster might channel something out of Emet-Selch’s playbook, or a healer could radiate like a summoned Seraph. It adds flair without imbalance.

It’d reuse existing animations, so hopefully feasible, and would give us more visual variety in everyday content.

Would love to hear if others would be into this!

I am resisting the urge of just outright posting XIV Launcher's install instructions, because I feel that would be pushing my luck too much...

Yeah, no, I agree with you, in general this game could use a few animation options, and if you have any familiarity with the modding scene, there is a whole cottage industry specifically revolving around making new custom VFX for existing attacks, even as much as letting you *choose* animations among the existing ones, like maybe someone wants to keep casting Stone IV forever even if the game still says "Glare", would be nice.

That sounds like the kind of thing they would put on the store (I.e. $5 USD for an alternate DRG LB3 animation).

Can I just turn off Vermilion Scourge?

I've never liked the WHM LB3. I would love to replace it with Y'shtola's LB that is just a Yuna reference.

I mean vermilion Scourge is the only flashy LB3 because its RDM and they are a flashy job.Also, because if its 4am and i'm not expecting it then its my fualt for not wearing my blue light protection glasses.

I want my Stone IV and Aero II back. I don't wanna play "everything is holy" mage.

All mages' offensive LB3 are visual r*pe and for trolling in like 80% of the cases.

The potency is not great, it can literally cause an alliance raid wipe if casted on the right moment, and everyone will complain "why did you do that? Waah waah" whenever a mage "wastes" a so precious LB3 on very old content. xD

I am a main mage, and I love RDM, but also I hate to say that RDM and all mages' LB3 are not good and visually jarring.

I hear people now going: "But.... but.... my almighty meteor!!", "But... but... my beloved bahamut!!" (´；ω；`)ｳｩｩ

Yeah yeah, those are nice, but honestly, they could be a little more useful and not a troll trigger. For instance regarding RDM in MSQ we saw Alisaie do a sort of LB that was similar to RNG LB, and it was WAY less of a eyes' r*pe, imho that is... xD

They can make a toggle between a RNG style LB3 or AoE LB3. Or, at least, something less jarring because, sadly, they are not good neither useful in like a lot of situations.

My two cents...

A limit break cutscene would be pretty neat.
