Hey, returning player here. I decided after coming back I would leave my OG server for Seraph since it was new and I didn't RP much and I was on a RP server so I figured I would go elsewhere.
I'm in Stormblood for MSQ and got to a trial (Pool of Tribute)
Waited 45 mins in this queue...which doesn't feel good because I have to do it to progress. It was silent the queue never popped. So I asked a friend how I could get it done.... and they said to visit another Data Center...and I tried it and the queue was 5 mins.
So...why isn't duty finder cross-datacenter already? (or however you would say it)
Are there technical limitations?
What are their plans with Dynamis? Did I make a mistake?
Did I just move to a dead Data Center?
Gonna have to travel to a more populated one every time I want to a do a story dungeon or trial?
Can I revert this move by customer service/GM.... I had no clue this would be the outcome.

Part of it is because you can't get a player off one datacenter without doing a datacenter transfer.
Why?
We don't know.
We do know it requires the character to be logged out. Every aspect of the character in storage, and unable to be interacted with, before the bit can be safely flipped.
Why?
Probably because otherwise you could dupe everything the character owns or otherwise cheat the system. -

People have started coming back for 6.3, so they'll probably look at moving over to Dynamis.
On the subject of Cross DC party finder, it's something they're working on. I believe it came up briefly in the last 14 hour broadcast. It's a matter of getting everyone together in one place before the duty starts. -

It's a new data center, so the population is still growing compared to established data centers such as Aether, Crystal and Primal and that's why it's easier to queue on them. Most dungeons have trust support except the ones in Stormblood that you are currently doing. Once you start the next expansion after it, you will only have to worry about trials or optional dungeons.Quote:

I highly recommend putting up a party finder anytime you run into a queue timer problem. Most of the higher level folks go to other datacenters for the faster queue for dailies but are happy to jump in and help someone clear a msq trial. Also shout asking for help in cities has been successful for me as I level my alt.
