The reason your post attracted me is because I had a similar problem with XI awhile back.
This post helped me.
You can skim to the bottom, the last post is the one I think may help you. The guy says...
"I had this EXACT problem on my new rig with the HIS HD6950 2Gb. Every game would lock up with looping sound every 20 mins or so and eventually after 5 mins the screen would return to the desktop (if i pressed windows key).
Good news is i think i found the solution. Rather than disabling the realtek drivers like many solutions suggest, just install the 'default' HD audio drivers (NOT the ones integrated with your motherboard drivers). Dont worry this installer removes the old ones.
http://www.realtek.com/downloads/dow...&GetDown=false
I had to restart twice for the uninstall/install and ever since it has been total smooth sailing. Honestly i tried about 20 different fixes for this problem and i am so happy its all over. The only other step i took that 'may' have helped was lower the quality of sound output on the realtek utility. Hope that helps."
Also if it helps I'm using ccc 12.1 because any driver after that fails at XIV for me on my 6970s.
Hope this helps & best of luck to you.

Finally I just find out what make this freezing issues happen .... the problem is during I am using the controller ,the game freeze!!!! when I unplug it,, the game bk to normal ,, I mean wtf????
never have this problem before 1.22b ............
-
what controller do you use? that will happen if you have that FFXIV controller and are using the snakebyte driver they supply. If thats the case just uninstall it and then just plug the controller in and let windows find the driver they recommend.
I had 2 of those controllers and the Dpad started sticking on both of em.
Glad you figured it out, best of luck to you.

I am using Xbox360 for window Controller , and look like is working now ,no freeze issues after update all the driver and did some clean up for my HD .. Hope this not gonna happen again lol ^^

Hmm...very interesting. Since 1.22b I've been getting random freezes and crashes, usually when switching areas (so it happens a lot in town). The game will either lock up completely for 20-30 seconds (sometimes crashing), or it won't load the new map, so I'll hit an invisible wall for 20-30 seconds (sometimes crashing).
On my old laptop, which is using Mobility Radeon HD 3650 graphics, I have no problems. This led me to believe it's a thing with the latest Nvidia drivers on my desktop and their new Adaptive AA and FXAA things.
But I do have an old Nyko AIRFLO comtroller plugged in...I'ma try unplugging that tonight and see what happens.
