Period for claiming is to short.

So I put a bid on some land last week, no big deal, that is until I had an emergency and no access to my computer, I literally wasnt even allowed home, for the full 4 days of claiming.

I was not expecting to have to go to hospital, I was not expecting to be there for 4 days, so not only did I not get my land, but because of the short period of claiming time, I did not even have a chance to claim my land, last few I saw the claiming period was like over a week, and then you drop it to 4 days only? Seems a bit silly to me, I am now missing 1.5mil gil, no land, no house all because of a healther emergency. I think it should be 7days to bid, 7days to claim, this would give those who end up having an emergency plenty of time to claim.

The cycle is long enough already. So I'm sorry - but no.

The cycle has always been 5 days to bid, 4 days to claim. The first round got messed up by bugs and that's the only reason it was ever extended beyond the intended cycle time.

As Dusty said, no changes have been made to the lottery cycle yet. Its unfortunate that RL events stopped you from playing for 4 days, but the current cycle is fine. Honestly, a lot of the community thinks its too long as is. There has to be a cutoff at some point, and someone will always have a RL issue that keeps them offline for that many days+1. Sorry it was you this time.

Notwithstanding that FCs can bid on multiple properties at once, and then pick which is best -- We've seen a boatload of people saying "ooops, I didn't mean to enter on that one" both personal, and more - as FC members. With us advising, it's ok, as long as you don't accept the winning entry you will get half your money back and keep your large.

Making you confirm it with a click is about the only thing between an FC losing their large and ending up in a small - shocking everyone - short of the master being more careful with permissions.

As long as people have trouble reading those placard details when they bid (or knowing 19-24 is 6 wards, not 5), we need it to be a manual accept.
