Hi all! I've recently just gotten a static together for my FC and while deciding tanks i'm looking for everyones opinion on the best synergy tank to go with a DRK.
Additionally, which would be better for maintank and offtank.

Nowadays there isn't really any synergy between tanks that would make or break a fight, really any combination works.
You could look at what damage buffs your party possesses since WAR for example doesn't gain much from crit or direct hit buffs, or go with GnB if you want the two tanks with the current highest dps, but neither of those are necessary to beat the fights either.
As for who should pull the boss? Basically anyone except the DRK, since pulling with Unmend messes with your opener.

I start this with I don't raid but I'm just honestly presenting what I've gathered from following the meta discussions of raiders.
GNB/war as main tank cause they tank and mit real gud. Also rdps real gud.
GNB/drk as off tank cause they dps real gud.
What makes war meta with the dps is the ability for them to provide dramatically released pressure on the healers so that the healers can dps/rdps more. Holmgang cooldown and the superior self-healing capabilities contribute to this.
I'm speculating on why WAR/DRK is so popular right now, cause I don't know if its planned by raiders or if it just was the most successful, but TBN being tied to DRK's DPS, in addition to TBN being the perfect warrior complement, contributing to the war main tank meta. Probably a combination of "Uuhh bigger number also works really gud"
While the meta isn't important outside of speed runs, warrior certainly isn't meta because the meta in this game is entirely about dps.
Do you know how many warriors there are in the top 100 parties for P4S? 9, and none of those are in the top 50. Neither are they in the top 50 for P1S or P2S.
What makes warrior nice to raid on is the rather simple playstyle and the probably strongest defensive kit out of all tanks. It is popular because it is comfortable, especially for progressing on fights for the first time, but being comfortable doesn't make it meta.
It is one of the lower dps tanks together with paladin, but unlike paladin it has 0 synergy with dragoon & scholar's crit buffs as well as bard's direct hit buff. On top of that healers have such an abundance of tools to heal the party without losing dps that warrior's extra defensives do not make a difference.
Does that matter in grand scheme of things? No, unless you want to do speed runs. But I thought I should clear this up.
