Expanding Apartments to 3 sizes to relieve housing market.

I just wanted to suggest/discuss adding two additional sizes/options for apartments. I PERSONALLY don't really care for or even like yards, but I'd love to have an apartment larger than one single room.

What I imagine this could look like:

Apartment - stays completely the same as it is in game.

Condo - Just like an apartment, this would be instanced within an apartment building and have no visible exterior. The interior would be the size of a small house. It would cost more than an apartment but LESS than a small house. The interior item limit and storage room limit would be the same as a small house.

Penthouse - Same as the condo and apartment - instanced within an apartment building. The interior would be the size of a medium house. The cost would be more than the condo but LESS than a medium house. The interior item limit and storage room limit would be the same as a medium house.

I really feel this could help with the congestion and competitiveness of the housing market without stressing the servers - it would also take people like me who don't care about exteriors completely out of the housing market to make room for people who like them and are willing to pay a higher price for them.

Edit: This could also possibly be broken into four options of - Apartment, Loft (sm), Condo (md), Penthouse (lg) but I'd wonder if the large shouldn't remain exclusive to houses?

SE had mentioned back in the latter half of Stormblood that something they were considering was adding size options to apartments (not to be confused with upgrading apartments, which would be a different process and one that YoshiP said their design can't handle). It has not been mentioned since so it's probably an idea they've abandoned.

Personally, I don't think leaving specific size options exclusive to ward housing even if instanced housing was expanded would be a good idea. As long as something remains exclusive with limited availability, there will always be a "black market" out to control that something for personal profit.

Would love to see these kinds of upgrades to apartments

I definitely don't disagree and would prefer that nothing is exclusive at all! (I'm down for a penthouse!) I am just not sure about the intricacies of their back-end function and how much the housing servers can handle more large housing instances.

I know that the technical-sided-issue with housing wards is the servers having to constantly generate our customized options in yards. Which is why yards feel quite limited as far as item slots. There are always fewer large houses and I can't tell if it's because the yards are a resource hog, the large interiors are a resource hog, or both. I know instanced housing is considered "better" since it doesn't "exist" until someone enters and the instance is created.

It's good to hear they have at least considered it before. Maybe with their server expansions they will consider bringing it back!
