Sage's Eukrasian Diagnosis/Eukrasian Prognosis overwrites Scholars Barriers

Before you write "works as intended", let me explain the issue behind it:

As a Scholar the "best" shield to guard your group from incoming raid wides or whatever is the combo of (any heal % bonuses +) "Recitation" + "Adloquium" + "Deployment Tactics", granting the whole Group a boosted effect of "Galvanize".

If a Sage now uses Eukrasian Diagnosis/Eukrasian Prognosis, it completely overwrites the Scholar's shield, resulting in a significantly reduced shield. The problem here is obvious, that the protection of the shield is lost and the Sage is pretty much dealing raid wide AoE Dmg to its own group (as removing a shield from everyone is nothing else as a boss casting a raidwide and reducing that shield, for which the Galvanize Shield was applied to begin with)

Solution 1: make these shields stack (not intended, as its right in the tooltip, i know, but it's still a possibility)
Solution 2a: ignore the effect if the granted shield would be lower than the already applied one
Solution 2b: make it like it's now with 2 Scholars - if one casts a new shield, just show the "no effect" floating text as a shield is already applied. I'm not sure if it works like in Solution 2a, where it would be applied, if the granted shield would be bigger.

Steps:
1. Scholar uses "Recitation" + "Adloquium" + "Deployment Tactics", granting the whole Group a boosted effect of "Galvanize"
2. Sage uses Eukrasian Prognosis
3. Group gets hit by a raid wide AoE from the Sage (lul), aka magicked barrier overwrites boosted Galvanize effect of the Scholar, resulting in a much smaller barrier.

I'm pretty sure it states in the tool tip that these barriers Adlo and EDiag do not stack. So that's working as intended.

Eukrasian shields will only overwrite Adlo if the Eukrasian shield is stronger than the Galvanize shield. If it is a smaller shield, then it will not overwrite.

thats wrong. it always overwrites and that is exactly the issue.

The problem is that only stronger Scholar Shields cam overwrite Sage Shields, while Sage can overwrite stronger Shields with weaker ones. If it can be adjusted so that Sage also cannot overwrite stronger Shields, all will be well again.

Not saying it's good this way, but I just want to note that a SCH can use Emergency Tactics every 15 seconds to make the shield a heal instead. Sage on the other hand can only do Pepsis if the shield is on the target.

Either way, one class or the other would have cooldowns wasted by somebody else, but I suppose SCH is losing bigger cooldowns and (unless it happens in the same moment) Sage can avoid using Pepsis (but they'd still be locked out of it by SCH's shields).

So I guess I agree with what you're saying, it would be more consistent and make sense to not have one take priority over the other, but it's not ideal either way (even aside from shields not stacking).

(If it were me, without fundamentally changing the design and working with things as they are, I would consider letting Pepsis work for a couple seconds after sage shields were lost or prevented, and letting stronger shields take priority as most would expect.)

I think this is an issue, why would a weaker sage shield override a strong scholar shield?



The thing I've noticed is that a scholar shield CANNOT override a sage shield at all. I've tested on myself, my chocobo, my friends. Once a Sage puts their shield on someone a sch can't put a stronger shield on them.
