Do you think we'll ever see a weapon design contest?

I for one think this could be a lot of fun. We've seen a lot of cool design contests before and I don't think we've ever had one for weapons specifically.

I'd like for it to be a thing. Would avoid reskins and what not and some weapon designs atm are... lacking. +1!

The only time we had something close iirc is the Lost Allagan set from 4.0 having an entire weapon series modeled off the winning design for the Tank set.

Would love to see a really big contest where SE puts out a theme and everyone is allowed one entry into a specific weapon design for them.

Anything that will give me an actual cool looking Gunblade pas the Deepshadow one is welcome to me.

I'd also like to see a mount and chocobo barding contest. Though I imagine the mount one being a bit scarier to implement, yet exciting in that you might see something just... wildly unexpected.

Wonder how practical it would be to have a quest, fate, etc, contest... A lot more on the line with that but could be fun.

That'd be nice! A break from reskins for once and many could put out some cool weapon ideas!

I really hope so, I actually like that XiV and BnS will regularly have design contests. I wish more mmos would do stuff like this instead of re-skinning or coming up with some of the awful gear designs some have.

Hope they have one for dancer and gunbreaker for crafted primal weapons.

I would definitely love a weapon design contest!

I would especially like to see what weapons people could design for gunbreaker and dancer, since they are lacking compared to the rest of the jobs.

This seems like a bit of a waste. If they had a contest for weapons, there's no point in limiting it to primal themes. Let peoples imaginations go to whatever themes they want to design for. Making primal weaponss for dnc/gnb wouldn't need a contest, just apply the designs of the primal weapons they're missing to chakram and gunblades, not much outside the box thinking needed there.
