Fluid Aura changes

I finally have started leveling WHM and have realized that Fluid Aura doesn't do a knock back anymore and just binds the target. This is really sad, it went from an ability I would use to push caster mobs to the tank on big pulls to help him keep agro on everything to an ability that I will never use.

I guess this is mostly a post asking Square to change it back to a knock back instead of a bind

It's surprising (and depressing) how no one bothered to think how utterly redundant it would make Fluid Aura to take away its one grace. The knock back was situational enough but as it is right now they could remove it entirely and nobody would notice...or care.

I think fluid aura is bugged. It still has an effect tied to it after all this time. We can't have that.

I miss Fluid Aura.

Fluid Aura has no use anymore. All it does is bind an enemy for a very short duration... and you can't even attack it. It's only useful if you want to flee from one mob, and Repose does a better job at this...

Why do we still have Fluid Aura again?

In case you're thirsty. Not entirely sure what else they intended the skill to be used for.

Basically. I love how the class starts out with stone, wind and water, all three being equally useful. Then it loses both stone and wind with no lore reason, and water is turned into Magikarp's Splash.

In the french version of the game, Conjurer is called Elementalist. Yup.

It's a minor thing but that always bugged me tbh - WHM is the single job whose lore and aesthetic/theme don't match at all. Are we a druid or are we a priest? the CNJ/WHM lore and job quests say druid, yet the spell effects, names, and gear says cleric, specially now that we lost Stone and Aero.

Maybe it's a sign we'll see an actual Elementalist job in the future

I think this is because conjurer was originally designed with multiple jobs in mind before they realized it put a lot of constraints on lore and skill design (the awkwardness you mentioned being a symptom of that). Honestly, I never really associated white mages with the cleric archetype found in many other games so I think the direction they took was pretty interesting, even though we have since abandoned our roots (no pun intended).

I like to use Fluid Aura for no reason just to have another button to press. It really should be something that you can spam in Uldah for presentation if it isn't going to have any real purpose.
