Broil Mastery/Ruin 2 potency

At lvl 54 the potency of Ruin 2 is increased to 160 before unlocking the Broil Mastery trait.

Traits are unlock automatically, you don't need to do a job quest to get a trait

Broil and Broil Mastery are the reward from the lvl 54 job quest. Broil Mastery increases the potence of Ruin 2 to 160.

You only get the skill from the quest, but like I said the damage increase is from the trait which unlock the damage up automatically

Some Mastery Traits were added as quest rewards to quests that grant the new form/rank of spells like Ruin and Stone a while back, if you had gained the trait the old way then you may have never noticed the change.
Both the skill and the trait are listed, and given, as rewards from the quest 'False Friends'. The trait is not learned automatically at 54, but the potency increase to Ruin 2 portion of that trait is granted before the trait is gained.
The trait does 2 things, 1 of them is done before you get the trait (making it a bug). Most likely since Ruin 2 was reworked for ShB, they silently added a hidden trait at 54 to give Ruin 2 +10 potency and added that traits effect description to the existing mastery trait to avoid making a new displayed trait to increase potency by 10. but forgot, or decided against, unlocking that hidden trait when the mastery trait is unlocked.
