I'm going to go with B, they just wanted to make that specific joke.
I think it's just a joke that Koji Fox is responsible for, or other languages would've had that as well, but the german achievement ist just 'Durch den Sturm' (Through the Storm), most likely just referring to Stormblood.
Think it is just the translation having a bit of fun, remember achievements are for the players not the characters so they have no bearing.
It's just a reference. The Crystal Noctis has a connection to in XV is very, very, very different then the (Mother)Crystal we have a connection too. And by all accounts, we've got a much better deal going then Noctis does...
It's far from the first time Koji's had fun with the translations/localisations, and I'm sure it's far from the last.
The thing is, we know NOTHING about Eos in XV. She was pretty much omitted from it.
XI had a mother crystal that split into pieces.
Other side games reference a great crystal, or various crystals sustaining it.
Even IX, XII, and XIII's world has a crystal behind its mythos. I strongly believe that each FF world is created and maintained by a sentient rock. There are hints to this everywhere. It might be what Gilgamesh, and Omega use to travel.
Dissidia even confirms all FF are connected by their universes. If not that, then how do we explain copies of Doma, Matoya, Xande, Ivalice, Fran, and other characters that naturally appeared in Eorzea? Where do their copies come from. Are they mimics on purpose in the lore? There has to be a reason.
They stated once that the appearance of elements from other series isn't because the worlds ade connected, but for the nostalgia. They explicitely said FF XIV is it's own universe
You sure about that? With all the hinting, Shadowbringers, the idea that light is not good and we have yet to learn the truth about Hydaelyn, I guess we could've picked a short straw as well...
