Like, I get that the healers and casters set tend to be more cloth like, but it'd be nice to have similar items like hoods and capes for the melee classes. I hate seeing a glamour I like and can't replicate it because it's caster only.

I feel you man, glamour shouldn't be locked behind class... I'd like to look cool in some armor even though I'm just a blm. At least I have rathalos gear, it's something...
Yeah... I don't see the problem with them doing what Guild Wars 2 did.
Which was just, in PvP your opponent saw you wearing some generic class armour. So you were easily identifiable, even if you went all out on the #FashionSouls
As is, it would be nice to remove the class restrictions, since well, in PvE it matters a bit less about having your class being so defined and at the very least, weapons would remain which are the indicator of class in this game.
Especially since you currently have some inequality in the fact that Tanks can wear and thus glamour all the Tank exclusive heavy armour, the Tank+DRG Medium Armour as well as the DoW generic Light Armour. (All this and yet I can't wear a pair of DoL earrings /cri)
I'm of the opinion that the only glamour that should be locked behind class is AF gear. Everything else should be glamourable on anyone. That way, jobs and DoH/DoL classes retain their unique identities by having the gear designed specifically for them remain unique to them, but there would be tons of other options opened up for everyone, including a full range from hoods and capes to heavy armour.
