Is augmenting a 350-penta-melded bardbody worth it or not?

Hello everyone!

Sadly I'm not that much into theorycrafting, so I'm look for some expert-help here!

Situation:
I have the crafted 350-HQ-bardbody pentamelded with as much DH as possible.
With the new option to upgrade 350 to 360 I'd lose the chance to put in the three extra DH-materia again, which would equal a loss of 64 DH.

However I'd gain
14 DEX
19 VIT
12 CRIT
8 DET

So my question is: Is sacrficing 64 DH worth that? I know that your mainstat is obviously the most important one, but is 14 DEX enough to outweigh the loss of 64 DH?

(The ultimative goal is obviously the 370-chest-piece from O8S, but til then I kinda need every bit of DPS that can be squeezed out, hence the question)

Those two pieces of gear will perform extremely similarly.

If it helps to list stuff out (based on this)...
+12 CRIT will get you +0.1% crit rate.
-64 DH will get you -1.6% direct hit rate.
+14 DEX + 8 DET will get you some extra damage on everything. How much extra? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

As far as I know, the only real way to know would be to compare long parses of the two pieces of gear, and that would require you to get the gear first. Yuck.

I don't think you'll notice a difference either way, so I'd be inclined to just recommend sticking with what you have. Again, not an expert.

Without knowing your full stats it would be impossible to give you a precise answer, but roughly speaking crit > dh on brd, so you can take at least 12 points of dh loss out of the equation. Det, is a little harder because those 8 points may do nothing (if you're right at a tier threshohold), or they may be worth 0.1% if you're within 8 points of the next tier. The value of dex goes down slightly as you gear out more, so its exact value depends on your current gear. Absolute worst case scenario, your crit is low enough to be roughly equal to dh, the det does nothing, and aside from the body you're already 370 in every other slot. This gives you a loss of 52 points of dh (0.325% damage loss) vs a gain from 2836 dex to 2850 (0.49% damage increase). As you can see the numbers favor the 360 body, albeit marginally. Depending on your gear and where your det is in terms of tiers, it might be more of a an increase.

Except for crit on BRD (and MNK probably ?), the mainstat is usually way more potent than substats.

So, I'd say that 14 DEX alone is better than 64 DH. But you gain 12 Crit and 8 DET, so there's a loss of 44 substats for a gain of 14 maintstat.

You probably won't notice the difference anyway.

The Augmented i360 would be better. 64 DH isn't enough to overtake 15 DEX. The only time you don't prioritize main stats is on certain jobs that heavily value Crit. For instance, the BRD Ivalice body is complete trash.

The DPS difference would probably be pretty minor either way. Get the Augmented one for the extra Vitality!
