Quality of Life Thread [Patch 4.2 and beyond]

We have received a ton of changes to the game since the last thread, and so I thought I’d make a new one.

My requested changes are:

- Return the run action to the way it used to be
- Unlock Balmung before our server dies
- Expanded Inventory is supposed to mean that I see everything in one window. Not two tabs. Put it back the way it was. It wasn’t broken.
- Make the glamour dressser storage at least 500 items. As a veteran I’m running out of room already.
- Fix the double bun hair style on Miqo’te. It’s horrendous.
- MSQ Quest Roulette should have skippable cutscenes. I’m not running it anymore.
- More tabs on glamour plates please.
- Let us use orchestrations on our chocobos.
- Shiva emote, and Odin emote in the cash shop.
- No more losing dyes when I put things in the armoir.

Wouldn't that be a anti QOL? I like it and i prefer it staying. However i would love it to work better in cities.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but isnt it locked because you are too many on the server? SE attemps to offer free teleports havn't helped so at this point its a community issue imo. I know a lot of players on Balmung wants a RP server but I can't say i can see SE doing that.

Yes please.

Adding a few here:

- Allow us to access menus while playing Triple Triad (kind of ridiculous that we can't do this)
- Continuing with Triple Triad, don't make us re-select a deck when challenging an NPC; it should automatically select the last-used deck unless we're initiating a new session
- And finally with Triple Triad, provide us with a Concede button
- Let us block out FATE music, not just overworld battle music
- Allow Diadem to be entered solo, and remove the level cap within it so that the content (however bad it is) can be done without groups
- Alter the MSQ Roulette maps so that they're solo instances with NPC squadmates. Skippable cutscenes aren't a solution (it's an atrocious experience for newcomers), and unskippable cutscenes aren't great either
- Up our inventory to 150 (is it really so hard to add 10 more spaces?) and adjust inventory display to match (Expanded View should have six 5x5 grids, and a grid for KIs and shards, as an example)
- (Non-game-related) remove the stupid f***ing 1000-character limit on the Forums that everyone evades by editing posts

I'm sure I can think of others, but those are the major ones that come to mind right now.

The UI lead guy (can't recall name sorry) was saying recently they are working on something for PS4 and Win64 versions to get us a better UI for inventory.
He was also saying that its very hard to roll back to the old UI due to its coding or something technical.

No, we're going to be unlocked eventually but right now the servers simply can't handle Balmung being so bloated. Not without significant infrastructure improvements that SE does not wish to pay for at this time. We're getting there though, so just be patient.

And make the plates allow for cross class glamours. I see no reason to use this system right now otherwise.

I just want it to be a solo instance or to allow you to skip if no one is new, which is going to happen more often than not.

Never going to happen. We still don't have the maid and butler outfits yet from over a year ago /and/ the discontinued emotes from other physical purchases.

Adding a few:

When linking an item into chat - keep the text box open and in the channel we were linking to (i.e. try replying to a friend "Do you want a [Link]" and as soon as you press the link you'll be taken out of reply and into FC or whatever the default was before.

Allow us to look directly up.

Change Monk's Form Shift to a 30 second cooldown, 10 second duration buff that allows the use of any weaponskill so I don't have to fom shift over and over waiting for tanks - or missing my form on pull because said tank didn't listen and throw up a timer.

I would instead argue for adjusting the cooldown on that (though with a 60 second cooldown, I'd say it's pretty good already), rather than adjusting Form Shift.

Would definitely love to see more capacity in the glamour dresser. Would also love to be able to sort any 'unlocked' items by level or job. My only other MMO experience with glamour was DC Universe Online and once a style was unlocked, it was always available to use via a separate interface. Plates are too restrictive and continually having to glamour gear is repetitive. Have to think there is a better solution.

Also, more macro icons :/
