I'm not sure if this was an intended change, or if I'm just buggy, but I can't just hit escape to close out the main map anymore.
I went through the character settings, and I did see a small section that adjusted map settings, but I didn't see anything there. Am I blind? Is there a way to turn this back?
I haven't been able to do this for MONTHS and MONTHS.
A few patches ago, Cancel and Close All UI Components were separated into two buttons, where they used to be a single function mapped to [Esc]. This caused several side effects, among them the inability to use split target HUD elements and Esc cancel target until you remapped your keys or they "fixed" it.
Unfortunately, their fix was specific to the case of canceling target while using split target HUD elements, and many side effects remain.
The default keybinds for the two new functions are [Esc] for "Close All UI Components" and some other key for "Cancel". If you remap [Esc] to Cancel instead, you should regain most of the old escape functionality. However, for whatever reason, canceling a castbar is tied to Close All instead of Cancel, so you will lose the ability to cancel an action by mashing Escape.
