So every once in a while in PF, I see a recruit msg for static, also requesting whatever class the group wants to server transfer as a mandatory prerequisite.
Now I get that you can always get a feel for the group by partying with them and doing the raid they want first but I'd also like know what other factors would push you to server transfer?
Its a notion that's eerie to me but I'm actually looking forward to sate my curiosity with your thoughts on this.

with cross server party finder and squadrons giving fc buffs as items there is barely a reason to have this prerequisite as you can see how good a person is by going into duties which is a better test than dummies as you know mechanics they may have to interact with.
Nowadays to me if your willing to transfer your looking for new fc/friends to hang with on a regular basis, you wanna join a server which has a higher density of your prefered playstyle or a language barrier with a large portion of your server playerbase

Unless they're paying for my plane ticket then hell no. Haven't they heard of cross server party finder and discord? my static consists of people from Faerie, mateus and jenova. We speak and organise raid schedules over discord. Tell them to get with the times. It's 2017, not 1967.
Oh and as ManuelBravo said, what if they break up? will they paying for you to go back?? lol i bet you they wont.
No, because transfering gil is a major pain in the rear, and I own a personal house. I did one transfer when the EU datacenter opened, and would not go through with it again.
Though, my server has a healthy raiding population, so finding a static isn't a problem (currently I have one anyway). They'll be adding more cross world features, so it'll become even easier to coordinate mixed statics in the future.
In 2.x I would and did transfer for statics. But now with the cross server raid finder and party finder I don't see the need of transferring anymore. The only time I would transfer again is, if that static is on a complete different data center, but to be honest, it's quicker to make an alt and raid with that. Saves you the $18 as well and you have no weekly lockout since you now have 2+ characters you could raid with. In the circumstance that this static breaks, you could just look for a new one and wouldn't have the hassle of transferring forth and back within a short time of period.
