Me and my guild decided to come back to FFXIV, we all bought the bundle that includes heavensward, but sadly it is over a week now and none of us can download the patch.
It gets stuck on the ex 1 file and then just says unable to download patch. We all tried support but in the end they just told us that a high percentage from the U.S. are unable to get the patch and sorry for any inconvenience.
Some said in reddit posts to keep trying, I know for myself I have tried on average over 70 to 80 times a day to get the patch for over a week now and have not gotten it. Even tried to set up the game on our server farm at work and it did not work.
My ISP says it is SE's issue because of a quick time out response on there end and if the file is located on a real server and not a P2P infrastructure we could get it.
If anyone knows of the file ex 1 on an alternate server please get a hold of me, I will even gladly host it on our work server farm for others. I found a ton of posts on this topic on the internet so it is an issue that others need help with.

What operating system are you using? also did you try running bench mark first? while downloading the patch try using alternate times could be blocked by Anti virus

11-18-2016, 04:32 AMXatericWindows 10, and tried all of that, even put my PC outside the DMZ with nothing running but the game....it times out on ex 1 at 431 megs. We have been trying it day and night and on my work pc and 2 friends pc's it will not get past that.Quote:

Only other step is to contact support with the description, I had an issue a while ago and they gave me an alternate link. unless you have some type of data limit looks like teh file could be corrupted on their end. Did you try WTFast? or fast.com to test your connection speed? some setting if no activity can cause problems.
