Cumbersome Targeting_ suggestions

Up And Down arrow keys for scrolling thru party list. Left and right for targeting enemies.If you need another key for targeting npc's thats fine - bind it where you want - F12 ect. Possibly just leave Tab as your target all key.. At this point, there could be come optional bindings where you could take it from here and tweak is to your perfered keys. But i think the important one is up and down cycling thru party members via the party list. would like to add that the need to retarget a mob after casting a spell and then hit enter again is absurd and cumbersome. Yes you can get by with macros. But i like using my easy to reach macros for things that should need a macro. not for basic one cast spells or abilities. This is just horrible ui design. Worst ive ever seen to be quite honest. Love the game, but it could be so much better.

As cool as the little targeting widget is... this is probably better. Good suggestion, hope they listen.

Amen! Playing a Conjurer has been hell since they added that little targeting swapper. I would at least expect them to give us the option of toggling it off for the people that don't want it. Thanks for bringing this up, I know there's probably 5-6 more threads about it, but the more voices, the stronger the opinion gets imo.

I wish a thread about targeting could be stickied. Targeting is absolutely 100% the biggest flaw in the combat design and no amount of job adjusting will be able to settle the system in something more forgiving without the addition of a smooth targeting control. Behests are the first thing that comes to mind. It is so difficult to target the enemies that 90% of the behest groups cant even get an action in before the mob defeated. (Compound this problem 10 fold when it comes to mage jobs.)

If a targeting thread cant be stickied, I encourage everyone to keep threads of this type bumped to make sure they are noticed.

yeah, targeting is horrible. this idea sounds fitting, on top of letting us toggle players with the bar open, having to close it and reopen is just rediculous.
