I currently have around 80 totems and still don't have the seph bird. 20 horde ones and haven't seen nidhogg bird even once, while I saw seph's about 8 times. This is ridiculous.

The only birds available that you can trade in 99 totems are Bismarck, Ravana, and Thordan. Sephirot and Nidhogg aren't available yet since they are still quite new; however, I get the feeling in the upcoming patch, they will be available too.
The drop rate for those 2 specifically was never increased, as opposed to Rav/Bis/thordan. But to awnser your question, I have seen 1 seph bird in I'd say about 50-60 clears, and the only nid bird I've seen in about the same amount of kills, I was lucky to win :D
Oh, whoops; misread the title (I was half awake when I responded to your post). I thought you asked how many totems you need to get to buy the birds XD
I do think the drop rate for the latest birds are very low. I fought Seph EX plenty of times and I haven't seen a bird yet (as for Nidhogg EX, I haven't even cleared it >.<)
It was about 15 for my Seph bird ^^. There was a practice/kill group in PF and since i was bored i joined them to help with the clear. We killed it after 4-5 wipes and the bird dropped. I rolled over 90 and got it \o/. Never saw a Nid bird tho after ~15 kills.
Not about me personally but my buddy had nearly 2 stacks of Ravana tokens from way back. And disposed of them about 2 months before the turning 99 in for a bird existed as a feature. He still does not have the Ravana bird.
Seen 5 or 6 nid birds out of around 115 runs or so.
Well for me, I got to around 160 something runs of Sephirot before RNG finally blessed me with highest roll for the whistle. I thought that it could have gotten better from there, oh how wrong I was. Bring forth the 215 runs for the Nidhogg birdy. It was weird though, after I'd finished them, it took me a while to find something else to do I was grinding them that much! :')
I think I've been lucky with the drops considering I've seen one every 5 kills or so.
though I did it less than 30 times and got my bird already. RNG is just... RNG :(
