Unexpected PUG at Dzemael Darkhold

Last night, I was slowly working through my Zodiac Braves quests (yes, I'm one of those) and having fun cuing into dungeons, last night. As I select "join an existing group", I ended up cuing into Dzemael Darkhold as WHM. When I got in, I realized there were no tank but two MCH, P'asara Saki and Holocyll Ventra. They said their tank got dc'ed and the previous healer got impatient and left. Based on what I can tell the location, they just finished the first boss (All-seeing Eye).

I waited a couple minutes with them and no tank arrived, so I suggested we can try to slowly make our way through until a tank arrives, and so we did. Between the two amazing MCH, their turret and me sleeping extra mobs, we managed to make our way to the second boss, Taulurd. Since I remember it wasn't a heavy tank fight (most of the time it just runs around sporadically anyway) and mostly an AoE dodge fight, we gave it a shot. It went surprisingly well. After patting ourselves on the back, we continued on.

By now, we were joking we really don't need a tank and also amazed how crazy after 15 minutes we still have no tank drop in. I think it was P'asara Saki who suggested we should video this and send it to Square-Enix. Eventually, we get to the final boss Batraal.

Once again, I remember the fight isn't much of a tank fight, as aside from tanking a few hits here and there, it's mostly DPS dodging the purple beams. So, like three idiots, we decided to go for it. Aside from some big hits from Batraal Grim Fate, which isn't that difficult to heal thru as long as I keep my eyes on them, the fight went extremely well. The MCHs were doing so well I even have time to heal the turrets! Around 5% HP left on the boss, unfortunately we all got hit by Grim Halo and with me not having Benediction, one MCH died. With me running low on MP, I made the decision to swift raise her and risk myself dying (boss is so low on HP, I am useless at that point as my MP is too low to contribute DPS significantly).

AND THEY DID IT!!! With both MCHs, still alive and my face on the ground, we were able to finish the fight!

Needless to say, we were thrilled and called ourselves amazing. I know it wasn't the hardest fight, and with three able level 50+ it wasn't something that far fetch, but this is the type of experiences that will last in your memory for the game. Too bad none of us are on the same server, but if I ever run into again in Duty Finder again, I'm sure it will be another great run.

I had a similar party in DD, except it was the healer that left after the 2nd boss with no warning.

So Me, a War, a Ninja and a Black Mage waded through the last bit of trash, then sat there waiting for a healer for the last boss. None of us were crazy enough to do that boss without a healer. Good times.

Yep. I think i was the original healer that left last night. I wasn't being impatient but i wasn't really prepared for a super long run, as i had stuff to do around the house. Sorry to the Mchs i had to abandon, but I'm glad you guys got through it ^^

Hey! No worries, we made it through and had a very good memory of it. Yes, life > game, totally understand :D

Same thing in aurum vale from start to finish on sch with Nin and bard. Last boss was tough but we 1 shot it.

I had a similar run once, me as BRD, a MNK, and a tank...think it was a PLD but it may have been WAR, this was a while ago. Healer left for...reasons? Can't remember why, at the beginning of Fractal Continuum, right after the first boss. The three of us powered our way through to the final boss, no healer. We got the last boss consistently down to about 10% a few times, but we kept wiping....so close :O A healer came after like an hour, and we cleared easily.

Then i did my way through 50 lvl main quest I had similar situation. But is was PLD(me), NIN and DRG in Hullbreaker Isle dungeon (Both were really good DD. Know how to DPS and survive). Our healer left after 1st boss for no reason and after 5 min waiting we decided to go without heal (but we kept looking for one). We were manage to kill everything except last boss without wipes. And after like 10 or 15 attempts we managed to kill last boss as well. That was really fun. It takes us about 40 min and not a single healer joined the party.

Actually, something similar happened to me in Pharos Sirius (Hard Mode). We had a SCH healer, a BRD DPS and me as SMN. Without a tank, we decided to have Titan-Egi tank whatever its capable of tanking, and then let it build some threat on the bosses to DPS as we would with a regular tank. Believe it or not, we cleared it from start to finish without a tank, and it honestly went really well, I dare say, almost better than with a tank (seeing as I was basically in charge of whatever Titan was doing)
