Animation bug: Horse mounts

Just noticed this with the new patch 3.1
Platform: PC (Windows 7)
Issue: Horse animations were faster before 3.1 - indicated by the regularity of hoofbeats and animation speed
Now: Horses (Sleipnir, the primal ponies, nightmare, unicorn confirmed so far) now have a more 'leisurely' canter when running at full speed.
Location: Anywhere you can call a mount.
Reproduction:
Call a horse - start running just after the whistle is blown but before the horse appears (easiest with minor latency of 100+); when the horse appears while the player is still running, the horse's run animation is faster (same as prior to 3.1 iirc). Once you stop running, then start running again, the horse's running animation speed is slower.
Notes: Have not noticed this with any other mounts so far.
