Gold Saucer attraction: A boxing booth
Idea:
A boxing booth should become available at Gold Saucer.
I am imagining an attraction, which can be used weekly by players, itching to know, who is the best in their respective class, and to engage in this indirect competition.
Explanation:
The boxing booth is supposed to be an attraction, where players hit an NPC or any puppet (much like the outside puppets), to deal the maximum possible damage within 3 minutes. The try is finished after that and some comparable value is shown (referred to as DPS by parsers at this moment) and saved for reference.
Each week would provide 7 tries, that is 1 daily.
Weekly, the best results are published by class, but only after the player chose to.
A rewarding system should be implemented to honor the people leading the ranks.
The point, though, is the following: The people inside are supposed to do all that with an absolutely identical gear per job, i.e. a training gear, which can be purchased at the booths NPC. That is to absolutely hone the skill, negating any advantages resulting from better raid equipment than other people.
Details:
Each class is supposed to have their own ranking chart. This negating possible advantages from classes which suffer from movement and so forth.
Each player may buy a stamp card/ticket weekly. Before buying the card, the player must choose his class for the current week, just to prevent people from hogging multiple top ranking spots per week.
The card is rendered invalid after the week, not regarding how often you actually used your daily tries. That only goes for ranked tries though; the booth should be accessible all the time for testing tries (which cannot be published though). This form of preparation for the actual try also extends the time spent in gold saucer (and therefore disperses the masses at Idyllshire for example).
Consumables are supposed to be allowed (potions and food, that is).
For the summoner, the pet is included in this calculations.
The training gear should be available for purchase via gold saucer points, probably with different looks even.
Suggested rewards in the ranking matches:
#1: 50.000 Gold Saucer Points and a special training gear to display the ranking.
#2: 25.000 Gold Saucer Points
#3: 10.000 Gold Saucer Points
#4-10: 2.000 Gold Saucer Points
And, last but not least, why should we even have that?
Many players have not actually mastered their classes, in terms of perfect rotations and likewise. How do I play this class correctly? What DPS am I supposed to make? Are there players, which are better, whom i could ask for advice? And all that on a free basis; no one is forced to participate, produce results or publish them. But the interested ones might have an additional way to improve their playing style, rotation or use of abilities. And that is on a fair basis; with close to same stats for all of a class (just race stats and stats from levelling differ).
