A year later, STILL crashing when certain USB audio devices are connected

Nearly a year ago I made this bug report, and as of the latest patch; it's still an issue.

The Apple Cinema Display (in my case), along with other USB audio devices (according to cursory internet searches) causes the game to fail to launch. Disabling the built-in speaker fixes the issue. The issue persists with both DX9 and DX11 clients. It persists 100% of the time, regardless of account, server, etc. The game crashes immediately upon pressing 'play'.

Would hazard a guess that direct is failing to init properly. Does everything pass in DX diag?
