Future Plans for Gardening Plots?

For awhile gardening has been reduced to empty plots. Are there any plans to revive gardening?

I've been around many of the housing areas and most if not all the plots are just sitting there, empty. Can we have more options for gardening, some suggestions maybe crystals, clusters, rare items, anything?

No more rare items please!

There's so many things those with gardens can grow for profit they don't need any more. I'd rather they Se implemented a flower pot system so that those with no house or FC gardening privilege can still grow stuff even if it's lower yield.

The gardens are probably empty because a lot of houses are essentially abandoned.

If active players owned them, you'd most likely see more things planted.

"Let's neglect a feature of the game because some players are making money off of it." Let's delete gathering and crafting while we're at it. :rolleyes:

I don't bother with my gardens anymore because there's literally nothing I need from them. I can't grow any new HW mats.

Talk about comparing extremes gardening =/= gathering/crafting

And with a "flower pot" (something that's been requested multiple times) gardening will be accessible to everyone.

Your only argument against adding new content for gardening is because some players are making gil off of it, which is absurd and selfish. And while adding a flower pot would be great, it should not be a mutually exclusive request. There's no reason we can't ask for new stuff while also asking for flower pots.

Not a single thing has been added to gardening since it was introduced - unless chocobo food/dyes came in a separate patch (I forget). I was expecting something exciting with Heavensward but not even any new seeds. When I saw new 'soils' appear in the gathering log I got my hopes up... Nope. =(

I wouldn't mind if I could just plant it up and keep watering the flowers once they bloom but even that's impossible as they die if not ripped out. You can't even water them after they reach harvestable size.

I just want to say that, I have small FC made of friends irl (like 5).
We too have a gardening plot.

In the past, I have tried to grow rare items before.
The process is a painstakingly long. I had to constantly look up a crossbreeding charts/guides to see if I would get the desired outcome.
And because the Rare item yield is only 1--I think-- and having a small gardening bed; it felt more like a chore than a rewarding experience.

So when you say, "No more rare items please!" I think I understand where you are coming from.

I'm sure others may disagree with me. That is just my experience with gardening for rare items, nothing else.

Actually no, since they made thavnairian onions drop from 2 or 3 quests in heavensward, the price of these items dropped dramatically and it was the biggest seller from gardening. Now garden owners are only limited to jute and glazenuts (as well as a couple minions that barely sell) and neither of them are amazing sellers since they are for mostly furniture.

Please give us more reasons to have a garden, SE.

My point when I started the thread was to just give us something to do with the garden plot besides take up space. As I said in my original post I'd be happy with anything and I'm all for a pot to plant in as well. I always liked having my flowers and plants growing in 11.

Hope something happens, because gardening has been neglected pretty much except for minions, chocobo food, chocobo coloring. Would really like to see something for everyone to enjoy as well.
