level 30 to 50 chain scenario quests

So when I get home I will finally be done with the last 6 main scenario quests I have left.
Maybe it's because I'm new to the game to not understand why there was so many main story quests with such little reward. But why was each quest turn in of the like 300 main scenario quests. Well it felt like 300... don't remember the exact number since I'm on my phone. But home come after completing it all after like 20 hrs played of grinding it. It only leveled me one time? I understand it's not new expansion quests but shouldn't the exp have been buffed for heavensward? Just so new players feel like this long chain giving low rewards and only 5k exp a quest can actually feel rewarded.
I know soon I won't have to worry about it anymore since I'll be done with it for good. But there are players I bet that couldn't take the grindy chain that granted low exp in return. My brother nearly quit but I kept pushing him to stay. Lol

Before anyone calls me out on this. I AM NOT saying that the main quest is pointless, the story behind it is terrible or anything along those lines. I'm just saying for how much work and days of playing it took the finish the chain. Only seeing your level go up one time at 50 didn't feel satisfying.

There are other side quests, etc to help you level unless you are just discussing the quests that start at 50. These quests they also have to be careful not to buff the exp too much because they want you to level with the HW quests. Each patch continuously added quests at 50 to the story and the chain is yes cumbersome but enjoyable no less.
