Anything new in the old world for 50 FSH?

So I only play crafting/gathering in this game, and I can't level my FSH past 50 or enter the expansion zones because of the main scenario quest line, which is too painful to complete. Is there anything new in the "old" world for fishers to do? New big fish? Anything? Or is everything just in the expansion?

Time to buckle down and do the stuff to head into the expansion.

Weird, I can gain exp past 50 at Oschon's Torch. I thought they said you couldn't gain exp unless you entered the expansion zones.

Nope.

If you have early access you can gain EXP past 50 anywhere.

As of Tue. anyone can.

Now about your little problem....

My fisher alt: http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...acter/1417349/ Dedicated fisher. I recently pushed her to SMN 50 and through the 2.0 storyline.

It will take a bit but she will fish the waters and skies of Ishgard. I understand we can fish in volcanoes there too....

Are you saying that on tuesday anyone can gain levels past 50 even without the expansion?

I am facing the same problem on my old charakter. I started the game on a legacy server but had to start over cause i wanted to play with friends on a non legacy server back when transfering from a legacy was restricted. After they allowed it, i got that charakter on the non legacy and used her to dig up an additional map every day. Heck i even have a 2nd account running just to be able to send the map to myself. Now i cant enter the new areas, cause she is not even near the end of the storyline. That char has a bard and i did the storyline until Cape Westwind i believe... But i dont feel like getting equipment and waiting for hours to finish that...

So i might just leave her and cancel my 2nd account :/

There is no problem leveling without access to the new areas.

My fisher alt made 51 fishing for Ninja betas and maps since Tue. The EXP / fish went up after she leveled!

You have to have bought the expansion to raise the level cap, you just don't have to have unlocked anything in it to gain XP.
