Upgrading trial version to full game

I recently started playing FFXIV and reached the max lvl for the trial version. Now I wanted to upgrade the game, but have a question about the payment.

When I directly want to upgrade my version through the upgrade function on the square enix webside, it says I have to pay 19.99€ for the windows standard edition. However, if I would buy the game in the sqare enix shop, It would only be 9.99€ .

Can I buy the game there and use it to upgrade my version? Since I don't want to create a new character. Could somebody explain this to me?
