New Player - First 30 Days Question

Hey all,

So, let me start with saying that I have spent several hours on Google trying to find this answer before coming here. On top of that I also tried using the forum search, but nothing great was coming up under "subscription", "standard", "30 days", etc..

My question: The 30 days included with purchase of the game; Does that count as an Entry or Standard subscription? If it's an Entry sub, is there a way to upgrade to the Standard sub right out of the box?

My friend is going to be starting the game on the 1st and I wanted to have a second character that I started alongside her's. So either I have to delete the character that I have now or we wait until my first 30 days are up and I can upgrade to the Standard sub just so I can create the second character.

If anyone has an answer, that would be awesome, even if you just have a link to this already being answered I would be more than happy with that.

Standard. I had to downgrade to Entry when I started paying for the sub.

That 30 days free sub from ARR pack is that what you mean?
Are you on trial version now?

1) You register as a free trial then you can play 14days for free lvl is only up to 20, you can create few characters to any server.
2) You purchase FF14 ARR, that package are include 30 days free sub, you can use that serial number to upgrade your current account or creating new one.
3) If you buy another sub time then it will be added to your account, free 30 days from ARR + additional sub time.

So you were able to create more than 1 character per server right out of the box? And did it have you select which character you wanted active when you downgraded?

Correct, I am on the trial right now with 2 days left. But what I wanted to know is whether the 30 days came with the Entry sub (1 character per/8 total across all servers) or the Standard (8 characters per/40 total across all servers).

This account from trial also, My first Character are from NA/EU servers but now I'm playing JAP server.
I believe the 8 character restriction from trials will be lifted once you upgrade or buy the game, and you get the 30 days free game time.
If you feel insecure or doubt, just create a new account at mog station.

And don't forget to exchange the recruitment code with your new friends, because both of you will get the double chocobo and some nice helmet that can boos your exp 25% until your level reach 25.

I have 1 day left on my trial, but I already have my ARR code and Heavensward pre-order codes waiting. I just wanted to make sure that when I put in my ARR code I would be able to create another character on my server that I could use with my friend when she starts in a week. :) I fully intend on keeping the Standard subscription so that I can have multiple characters.

You don't need to start a 2nd character to be able to play with your friend and level with them. All classes are played on the same character, therefor just start another class at level 1 and you can level that with your friend. On top of that the game has level synching where even if you're a higher level you can level sync down during whatever duty or dungeon you're playing with a friend.

Oh yeah, I understand that you can learn all of the jobs on any character and I've already run into the scaling. I just wanted to have a second character with her so we started the story together at the same time (not to mention I started in Limsa and she wants to start in Gridania, so I would get to experience the starter zone/story there).

Your game should actually say when you log in what your service is on the character screen. If push comes to shove you could always start on a new server if it's not a standard. I have 7 characters with an 8th waiting for a fresh baby Au Ra.

So I took the plunge the other day and popped my retail code in. Have all eight character slots open for me. Thanks again for everyone that took the time to answer. Those of you to hang out in New Player Help, you da real MVP! :)
