PS3 Infinite Login Screen, Won't Load.

This has happened to me repeatedly starting about a week ago. Upon entering my login credentials at the login screen my console sits at this screen forever with the "Working" or "Loading" icon endlessly spinning in circles. I've waited up to an hour before with nothing changing. My internet is fine and I see no announcements of troubles connecting using PS3 posted and/or maintenance *PS3 maint not FFXIV* When trying to quit the game or reload it, the entire PS3 will crash and restart. The only way I have been able to login is to repeat this PS3 crash around 5 times until for whatever reason it actually loads and allows me to proceed past the login screen.

sorry so the point was, is this a known issue for Playstation users? If so is there a known fix?
