Alternate Currency Item Refunding

Hello everyone, I haven't posted on the forums before, but I was very frustrated today, as I discovered that it is technically impossible to refund Allagan Tomestones of Poetics. Allow me to explain.

I went to go purchase my new ninja weapon with the soldiery I had been saving from the week of content since patch day. And in a rush, I bought the poetic tokens instead of the soldiery ones, after feeling embarrassed, I turned to the support desk to see if this could be resolved, but the limitations of their current almost 'hacky' way of fixing these issues is a one time process where you can place the item you purchased by accident for another one.

In my anger, I still contacted support, where they gave me a generic response, stating to use the process I just mentioned. But I bought tokens? I don't want these tokens, I want my poetics back and I don't want a different item in exchange (I was saving them to buy the ninja chest piece next week).
I pressed the issue in my next response, where the support staff admitted that it's technically impossible to do so.

Let me state my mind by saying, is this a joke? I admit that this was an error on my part, but from a design perspective, why was this never considered? I imagine this happens often and the GMs/support staff most likely get lots of tickets asking for refunds or replacements. This should not be something they have to deal with, this type of feature is apparent in other online games and they work flawlessly
This is not a real currency, this is an in-game currency why can't I just return the item within a set time period to get 100% of the currency back?.

To conclude, this is a bit of a vent post, but my error has caused me to realise that the ability to refund gear for the currency you purchase them with is impossible to do in the game currently and I wanted to make others aware of this (and also because the nice support staff recommended I do so)

Please everyone, make people aware of this so it can be implemented. I was so annoyed that I will have to earn another week of Poetics just to get the item I want.
