FATE reward system

just sent a ticket (leave suggestion feature), here what i write :

please make FATE doesn't reward you if you leaving the FATE area or make your previous FATE contribution reset if you start another FATE

it's really annoying when people leaving svara or any other big fate at 50% and just go do other FATE, it's not fair to some people who stay and actually finish the fate
killing svara with less than 10 people from 50% is a pain, real pain

please punish the selfish people, change the FATE reward system

It does get annoying, and I'm not sure if you have seen it in the zones where atmas drop but it's common practice to increase drop chances by hitting multiple fates. Really isn't fair to others doing the fate though.

From an opposing view as devils advocate what your suggesting could potentially hurt the ones who died during the fight if they die early on in it and no-one resurrects them which happens very often including a lot of the time not resurrecting after fight too so need to re-spawn else their reward and contribution is tiny, or the fate is one that moves around so they end up outside the area laying there dead. Keep in mind these are people which during a fight they helped contribute to in most cases get you through it whether in a speedy fashion, get through it partially or get through it at all. It would be a bad idea to lose all your progress by stepping outside of the area of the fate because fate areas are typically VERY small and it is sometimes far too easy to step outside by accident.

One other thing, most people do not run out of a fate on purpose to reset unless they are about to die and no-one there cares enough to heal them in the first place, if they are tanking it and are about to die hence try to run then maybe someone should heal them, if a DPS or healer gets it then maybe a tank should pull the mob off them but you cannot expect people to always die just to serve your needs. You could always make a fate party of your own if want people to do what you want and come to an agreement with them prior to starting instead of just expecting everyone else to do what you want based on nothing more than your own assumptions that they would.

Remember this...these people are not here to serve your needs, the world does not revolve around the fates you want to do and they are under no obligation to help you do a fate anymore so than just because you want to kill an S or A rank mob does not mean everyone has to come to you and help you kill it. If they got you 50% of the way through the fate, that's 50% more than you might have got if they were not there.

Unlike a dungeon in which people agree to do something prior to starting it which should carry through on what agreed to doing when accepting the commencing window...with exception of emergency cropping up forcing someone to leave or an agreement made within the dungeon that you could leave for non emergency hence vote kicking and vote abandon and 30 minute penalty if do so without either of those previous things. The fates are open to all, free for all to help or not help as they see fit, do the ones they want and not be forced to do ones they do not, there is no agreement or promise made to you prior to starting that they would help you with the one you want until it ends, no agreement forged by having to do ready checks or make a promise by way of a popup window that gives them one final chance to back out before beginning.

By the way I will mention that I never leave fates unfinished unless I keep dying and no-one is helping or it is not possible for me to finish but I have no intention of demanding everyone else has to be forced to help me finish any I chose to start doing. Worthy of note also is no-one forced you to start a fate that you would not be able to achieve alone. You chose to do a fate that relies on others despite no-one agreeing with you to stick around, you relied on the charity of others but also just assumed that they are there until your needs are served.

why do you make it seems like these people who leave when the FATE isn't finished yet is the helper/contributor ??? the previous FATE system change makes the more people come the harder the FATE become, which means if they only throw a few hit just to get contribution and then get to another FATE do the same thing, the previous FATE won't become easier again and it still think that the person still doing the FATE which means the FATE is harder
so, here i'm the one helping finish the FATE because i need it and i can't do anything about it because the current system allowing it

if the outside FATE area no reward is too harsh, then i still have another suggestion, "make your previous FATE contribution reset if you start another FATE"

people leave unfinished FATE to get to another FATE and some of them don't even know that they have highest enmity

I think your idea was about fairness, ofcoz I support the idea.
But I think the suggestion "reset if you start another FATE" has a problem as FATE doesn't need you to confirm start.
Maybe simply just change it same as Hunt, so you need to be there when it finishes.^^; It also maintains system consistency.

i think current FATE reward is the same as Hunt, problem is Hunt isn't as frequent as FATE so it cannot be tested

Do I get this right: If I have to dodge/kite something and accidentally move out of the FATE area, I lose all my contribution? Isn't that a bit harsh?

Once I was just out of range (the BGM changed to normal) when the S hunt finished and I received nothing, ofcoz all my PT members got full credit. ^^;

The thing about participating in a FATE is that even a failure will net experience/GC seals/gil as long as you contributed. You may not get as much as a full success, but pretty close to it. If you're forced to level via the FATE system instead of in dungeons (Ninja's will know this all too well), FATE hopping is generally the most efficient means of accumulating experience points (especially if there aren't a lot of people around) and taking the failure exp of several FATE encounters as opposed to the success exp of one encounter.

Perhaps no one was bothering to cast cure on Svarra's main target and they got tired of being at 20% HP with 60 people around and not one bothering to heal them. The fact that Svarra in particular was mentioned above, as well as the person having the most enmity leaving, says it all.

The last few times I got to the main Svarra fate in progress with her main target having like 25% HP left all it took was one Cure II cast on "target of target" with Svarra selected to top them off, or a couple of Physicks. That's just being practical if nothing else- when the main target dies, Svarra will find a new main target.

When levelling Dragoon and doing that fate one time I was the main one holding enmity against her for well over half the fight, and I saw several Aero's on her and yet no one did a damn thing to help me as my HP dropped lower and lower. After asking for someone, anyone, to help keep my HP topped up so I could keep her pointed away from the crowd and no one doing it, right around 15% HP I walked her over to them, delevel synch'ed, and said "Ok fine, you want to be her main target now instead of me, here you go!" and then I dropped her on them and left. Many tried in vain to scatter while she ran rampant over them and all that death was gratifying to behold.

I was all the way back down to Dragonhead by the time they finished that fate, and I got gold nonetheless... and I deserved every bit of it.
